TryShift

So Shift we found after doing extensive research into productivity software that could help us handle multiple logins, accounts, and client work with just my wife and I. This is a Windows only program I believe so far. This has definitely helped me keep everything organized and I just recently learned i’ve been using it wrong this whole time, but i’ll keep using it wrong as it works, but also i’m still on the legacy version 7, as the version 8 breaks how I use it.

As a digital marketing team, we have dozens of clients we work with directly, we also work with a lot of agencies helping to manage their Google ads. This can get complicated quickly as some agencies have their own log ins they want us to use, some are connected to our white label MCC account, and we have direct invites for some. We have over a dozen different logins for Google ads alone, we wanted a solution where we didn’t have to worry about Google Chromes 10 account limit.

This solved that issue, on the left column in the screenshot above, you’ll see multiple boxes which I have as workspaces, each workspace I have assigned to an agency or client if we’re doing multiple things for them. Within each workspace I have Google ads logged in under that agencies credentials, and whatever CRM they’re using, or software we’re logging into the most like mail chimp, shopify, zoho, etc. When I click into that workspace it is just their logins and software we’re working with, no longer do I need to remember what CRM each agency is using or what the login was for their accounts.

This also keeps the 2 factor authentification active really well as we have a few agency partners with 2 factor accounts but we don’t get the codes and need to reach out for them which can take time to coordinate. This loses the authentification a lot less than Chrome, as we’re constantly getting logged out in chrome.

Overall this has been a daily use software for us, and very helpful in keeping everything organized among the chaos. My wife did switch to the latest version 8, so it is useable but coming from 7 you have to re set up a lot of things, as it’s different than the version 7. This would be 5 stars if version 8 didn’t break my current usage, but also it struggles on some sites with special code running, an example being datastudio, when dupicating a report it dynamically loads the new report, but Shift usually won’t load the new report and just sit there. It is slowly getting better with working with more of these types of sites, as I can get tag managers preview mode to work in Shift, though it takes a bit of tweaking.
